Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July 2026
These terms govern your use of yuncuico.com and any purchase you make from YunCui & Co. By placing an order, you agree to them. Please read them together with our Shipping Policy, Returns & Exchanges Policy, and Privacy Policy, which form part of these terms.
1About us
YunCui & Co. is an independent jadeite jewellery atelier based in Yunnan, China, operated as a registered sole proprietorship under the laws of the People’s Republic of China. You can reach us at studio@yuncuico.com.
2Natural stone, honest images
Our pieces are crafted from natural Burmese jadeite. Colour, translucency, and texture vary from piece to piece — that variation is the character of the stone, not a flaw. We photograph every piece carefully, but screens differ, and minor variation between the image and the piece in hand does not constitute a defect or misdescription. Stated dimensions and weights are measured values and may carry the small tolerances customary to handmade jewellery.
3Certification
Pieces described as certified are accompanied by a certificate from the stated gemological authority, typically NGTC. The certificate speaks to the identity and treatment status of the material as assessed by that authority; it is not a valuation.
4Orders & acceptance
Your order is an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to accept or decline any order — for example where a piece has become unavailable, where payment cannot be verified, or where we reasonably suspect fraud. An order is accepted when we dispatch the piece. If we decline or cancel an order before dispatch, any payment taken is refunded in full.
5Pricing
All prices are in US dollars. We take care to price accurately, but errors can occur. Where a piece was listed at an obviously incorrect price, we may cancel the order and refund any payment in full, even after an order confirmation has been sent.
6Payment
Payment is processed by third-party providers — currently PayPal, including card payments processed through PayPal. We never see or store your full card details. Your use of a payment provider is also subject to that provider’s own terms.
7Shipping, risk & title
Shipping is governed by our Shipping Policy. Risk in a piece passes to you upon delivery; title passes upon receipt of full payment. Import duties and taxes levied by the destination country are the recipient’s responsibility.
8Returns
Returns are governed by our Returns & Exchanges Policy, including the fourteen-day window, the condition requirements, the professional re-inspection of returned pieces before refund, and the exclusions that apply to bespoke commissions.
9Bespoke commissions
Bespoke and made-to-order pieces are made to your specifications. Once making has begun, a commission cannot be cancelled, returned, or exchanged except in the case of a verified defect. Deposits, timelines, and specifications are confirmed in writing before making begins, and that written confirmation forms part of these terms for your commission.
10Care of your jewellery
Jadeite is durable, but it is not indestructible. Damage arising from impact, chemical exposure, or improper care after delivery is not a defect. Guidance is offered on our Care & Restoration page — and we are always glad to advise.
11Our work
All content on this site — photography, text, and design — is our property or used with permission, and may not be reproduced or used commercially without our written consent.
12Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
13Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you enjoy under the laws of your country of residence. If anything ever concerns you, we would rather resolve it directly — write to us first.
14Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you place your order is the version that applies to it.
A question about these terms?
Ask before you order — we would rather explain twice than surprise you once.
