Jadeite is among the most imitated of all gemstones. Treatments that bleach, fill, or dye a stone can transform a worthless rough into something that looks, to the untrained eye, like fine imperial jade. We believe the only honest answer to this is paperwork — independent, laboratory-issued, and tied to the specific piece in your hand.
What comes with every piece
Each item we sell is accompanied by a certificate from one of the gemmological laboratories we trust. The certificate confirms the species and, critically, the treatment grade — whether the stone is natural (Type A), or has been chemically altered (Type B or C).
- NGTC certification (National Gemstone Testing Center, China)
- GIA or Gem-A reports available on request for higher-value pieces
- Certificate number matched to the piece and recorded in our archive
Bringing us your own piece
If you own a piece of jadeite — bought elsewhere, inherited, or simply unsure — we will examine it for you. Our assessment covers species identification and treatment grade, the two questions that matter most. We charge only the laboratory’s fee; we add nothing for our time.
We do this because a market built on doubt serves no one. The more pieces that are honestly graded, the better it is for every collector — including ours.
Have a piece you’d like examined?
Send us a few photos to begin, or arrange to bring it in person. We’ll tell you honestly what we find.
